Eaton Canyon
sold
This painting is from Eaton Canyon, CA.
Two weeks ago, I went out to Eaton Canyon to get some sketch and reference photos.
It was within 20 miles from place and I early started toward the destination. To my surprise, there were so many people and the lot was so crowded. It was almost hard to find parking space.
I always love hiking and walking and I plan to go up to the fall. Even in the morning, it was so warm and hot and so bright sunshine everywhere. It was so daunting to lay out the shadow and light pattern and I wiped out a few times to even out the texture of the foreground. That way I could go forward to focused area, the light. Voila,Now I am happy with the result. Happy painting makes me satisfied.

This scene was referred to the White water park in Atlanta, G.A. I have some reference photo of the white water river, where the ancient ruined Cotton Mill Factory building spot can be seen down to the end of the river bend. It was so quiet and the stream of the river is almost calm down. Weather was so nice and shiny. I wished to capture its peaceful and pleasant mood.

Last year summer, I experimented watercolor pouring method using masking fluid.
This process requires kind of patience, as application of masking fluid on the paper takes time and cautious effort but in the end, the final result is rather fun and dynamic. You need to take careful preparation before starting pouring. Once masking application is done, next step is just simple. Three primary color pouring begins by blending themselves on their own. In this way, I created 15 works. Among them 6 pieces is being showed on Daily paintworks for auction.
